Обзор
Antennas mounted directly on the device or remote antennas increase the reliability of radio connections by optimizing signal reception and emission.
- Used for routers, modems and communications processors for the mobile wireless standards 5G (public and private networks), LTE (4G), UMTS (3G) and GSM/GPRS (2G)
- Coordinated range of antennas for the most diverse applications both indoors and outdoors
Особенности
- Cost-effective connection to devices in remote, difficult-to-access or demanding environments
- Establishment of a reliable mobile wireless infrastructure through the use of remote antennas, even if the mobile wireless devices are installed in the control cabinet, for example
Область применения
Antennas mounted directly on the device or remote antennas optimize send and receive conditions and enable the use of remote network products in numerous industrial applications.
In addition to antennas with directional radiation characteristics, omnidirectional antennas concentrate the radio field around the antenna in the shape of a disc. Both designs therefore result in improved radio communication quality.
Application examples:
- Remote access to globally distributed machines and plants, e.g. for Teleservice
- Telecontrol applications, e.g. in the water and wastewater plant environment as well as oil and gas applications, and applications in the railway or public transport environments
- Setup of communication networks in production plants
- Other applications, for example, automation of power distribution networks (Smart Grid), video surveillance
Дизайн
Overview of mobile network antennas
Функции
The radio field is optimized for the application with antennas mounted directly on the device and remote antennas. In industrial applications, this permits a reliable radio connection.
Omnidirectional antennas
Omnidirectional antenna
With omnidirectional antennas, the radio field is emitted evenly in every direction surrounding the antenna (horizontal opening angle: 360°), but it weakens as the distance increases. There is a concentration in the vertical direction which creates passive amplification of the radio field. Many omnidirectional antennas have extremely weak radiation directly below the antenna due to the construction type. This property can be seen in the associated antenna diagram.
Antennas for use with the 5G mobile wireless standard in private networks up to 6 GHz
ANT897-4MA
The ANT897-4MA antenna is a broadband antenna that supports mobile wireless frequency bands from 617 to 5000 MHz. It has an antenna gain of 1 to 2 dBi (depending on the frequency band used), an SMA plug and degree of protection IP65. It is therefore ideally suited for direct mounting on SCALANCE MUM853-1 5G routers.
ANT897-4MC
The ANT897-4MC antenna is a broadband antenna that supports mobile wireless frequency bands from 617 to 5000 MHz. It has an antenna gain of 2 to 3 dBi (depending on the frequency band used), an N-Connect plug and IP65/67 degree of protection. It is therefore ideally suited for direct mounting on SCALANCE MUM856-1 5G routers.
ANT897-4ME
The ANT896-4ME antenna also supports the mobile radio frequency bands in the 617 to 6000 MHz range. It has an antenna gain of 2 to 6 dBi (depending on the frequency band used), an N-Connect socket and degree of protection IP65. This antenna can be connected to mobile network devices with an antenna connection cable from the SIMATIC NET range. This means the antenna can be positioned at the location that is best for radio transmission.
ANT897-4PY
The ANT897-4PY antenna is a compact MIMO antenna with 4 antenna elements. It can be used in a wide frequency spectrum from 617 to 6000 MHz and has an antenna gain of 3 to 5 dBi (depending on the frequency band used) and degree of protection IP65/67. The antenna can be connected directly to SCALANCE M mobile wireless devices with SMA socket via four cables each 2 m or 5 m in length (depending on the version) and with SMA plug. The antenna can be mounted either on a vehicle, a flat enclosure/roof or on a ceiling.
Antennas for use with the 5G mobile wireless standard in certain frequency domains
ANT897-5PN
The ANT897-5PN antenna is a flat and compact MIMO antenna and contains 4 antenna elements. It can be used in a wide frequency spectrum from 2300 to 7200 MHz and can thus be used for both mobile communications (private networks) and WLAN (2.4/5/6 GHz band). It has an antenna gain of 4 to 6 dBi (depending on the frequency band used) and degree of protection IP69K. The four connections are designed as short cable pieces in staggered lengths with N-Connect sockets. The antenna can be connected to all mobile wireless or WLAN devices via suitable antenna connection cables from the SIMATIC NET range. It can be mounted either on a vehicle, a flat enclosure/roof or on a ceiling. This makes the antenna suitable for use on the Industrial 5G infrastructure and end device side.
ANT795-4MX
The ANT795-4MX antenna supports mobile wireless frequency bands from 1700 to 3800 MHz, as well as WLAN frequency bands at 2.4 and 5 GHz. It has an antenna gain of 1.5 to 2 dBi (depending on the frequency band used), N-Connect plugs and degree of protection IP68/69K. It can thus be used for direct mounting on SCALANCE MUM856-1 5G routers and is also suitable for use in railroad environments.
ANT795-6MN
The ANT795-6MN antenna supports mobile wireless frequency bands from 2400 to 2700 and 3400 to 3800 MHz, as well as WLAN frequency bands at 2.4 and 5 GHz. It has an antenna gain of 6 to 8 dBi (depending on the frequency band used), N-Connect socket and degree of protection IP65. This antenna can be connected to mobile network devices with an antenna connection cable from the SIMATIC NET range. This means the antenna can be positioned at the location that is best for radio transmission. It is also suitable for use in railway environments.
ANT897-1NY
The ANT897-1NY antenna is a flat and compact MIMO antenna and contains 2 antenna elements. It can be used in a wide frequency spectrum from 700 to 4200 MHz and has an antenna gain of 0 to 2 dBi (depending on the frequency band used) and degree of protection IP69K. The antenna can be connected directly to SCALANCE M mobile wireless devices with SMA socket via two cables each 3 m in length and with SMA plug. The antenna can be mounted on a non-conductive surface either on a vehicle, a flat enclosure/roof or on a ceiling.
Antennas for use with the LTE (4G), UMTS (3G) and GSM (2G) mobile wireless standards.
ANT896-4MA, ANT896-4ME and ANT896-6MH
The ANT896-4MA antenna has an antenna gain of 2 dBi, features an additional joint, an SMA plug, and degree of protection IP54. It is therefore ideally suited for direct mounting on the SCALANCE M routers, the CP1242-7 communications processor and the compact SIMATIC RTU3000C telecontrol units
The ANT896-4ME antenna has an antenna gain of 3 dBi, an N-Connect socket and degree of protection IP66. This antenna can be connected to the mobile wireless devices with an antenna connection cable from the SIMATIC NET range. This means the antenna can be positioned at the location that is best for radio transmission.
The ANT896-6MH antenna features an antenna gain of 5-6 dBi (depending on the frequency band used), an N-Connect socket, and degree of protection IP69K. It is especially designed for use in railway applications and complies with the standards required for such applications (including EN50155, EN45545-2). This antenna can be connected to mobile wireless devices with an antenna connection cable suitable for railway applications from the SIMATIC NET range. Siemens provides products and solutions with industrial cybersecurity functions that support the secure operation of plants, systems, machines and networks. In order to protect plants, systems, machines and networks against cyber threats, it is necessary to implement - and continuously maintain - a holistic, state-of-the-art industrial cybersecurity concept. Siemens’ products and solutions constitute one element of such a concept. Customers are responsible for preventing unauthorized access to their plants, systems, machines and networks. Such systems, machines and components should only be connected to an enterprise network or the internet if and to the extent such a connection is necessary and only when appropriate security measures (e.g. firewalls and/or network segmentation) are in place.
